Dr. Danny Collins, PT, DPT, DHSc is a proud alumnus of the USM DPT program, earning
his DPT in 2017. Prior to that he earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition
and Public Health, with a secondary degree in Gerontology, from Kansas State University.
He then completed his education with a Doctor of Health Science from the University
of Indianapolis in 2024.
Dr. Collins returned to the Stefani Doctor of Physical Therapy program as an Adjunct
Professor in 2018 prior to coming on as a full-time faculty member in 2022. He is
currently teaching cardiopulmonary and pharmacology content as well as serving as
the Director of Didactic Education.
Dr. Collins is a licensed Physical Therapist in Kansas and Missouri. He continues
to see patients as a home health physical therapist, treating an array of patients
including orthopedic, cardiopulmonary, and neurological conditions among a geriatric
population. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Kansas Physical
Therapy Association, the Academy of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy,
and the APTA Academy of Education.
Current research interests include student health and wellness, implementing an advising
tool to properly track student wellness, and implementing strategies to best help
students' success through academics and health and wellness.
