(Leavenworth, Kan.)— The »¨½·Ö±²¥ will present a staged performance of "Elizabeth I-In Her Own Words" at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27 in the Mead Hall Walnut Room on USM's main campus in Leavenworth, 4100 S. 4th St. Admission is free but seating is limited.

"Elizabeth I-In Her Own Words" is a collaborative story exploring moments in the public and private life of Queen Elizabeth I. This touring production by faculty of the University of Colorado-Boulder (CU) Department of Theatre & Dance features actress and CU theatre professor Tamara Meneghini-Stalker, a 1990 USM graduate, in the role of Elizabeth I.

The script is by playwright Carole Levin, an Elizabethan expert, who has crafted a captivating illustration of Elizabeth as a person while also painting a dramatization of the period. Excerpts from Shakespeare's plays explore the queen, her life, her loves, and her memorable connection to the Bard.

The performance is sponsored by USM's Sister Mary Janet McGilley Faculty Chair in Liberal Studies. For more information on the event, contact Dr. William Krusemark, Chair of Fine Arts, at krusemarkw@stmary.edu
