(Leavenworth, Kan.)—The »¨½·Ö±²¥ will conjure up some thrills and chills for "A Little Fright Music," USM's annual Halloween Concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, in Xavier Theatre on the Leavenworth Campus, 4100 South 4th Street.
The concert, presented by the university's fine arts division, is free and features performances by the »¨½·Ö±²¥ Community Band, the USM Concert Chorale, and student vocalists.
The performers will be decked out in full costume, and all attendees are invited to wear costumes of their own.
Under the direction of Dr. William Krusemark, the community band is made up of USM students, alumni, faculty, and staff, as well as musicians from the community. The band's program will include seasonal classics, such as movie soundtracks from "Batman: Dark Knight Rises," "Jurassic Park," and "The Raiders of the Lost Ark."
Also, the Concert Chorale will sing the venerable "Monster Mash" and "Grim Grinning Ghosts" from "The Haunted Mansion." Sopranos Rachel Martin (senior from Easton, Kan.) and Kylie Visocsky (junior from Lansing, Kan.) will sing Rossini's "Cat Duet."
A costume contest for any children in fifth grade and younger in attendance will be held during the show and prizes will be awarded.
