(Leavenworth, Kan.)鈥擳he 花椒直播 welcomes a group of Kansas' most exemplary teachers鈥攊ncluding the 2019 Kansas Teacher of the Year鈥攐n USM's Leavenworth campus, 4100 South 4th Street. The panel discussion will be from 11 a.m. to Noon Wednesday, March 27 in the Keleher Learning Commons.

The Kansas Teacher of the Year Program recognizes excellence in teaching in the elementary and secondary classrooms, with its mission to build and utilize a network of remarkable teachers who are leaders in the improvement of schools, student performance, and the teaching profession.

"We can all be inspired by an incredible group of educators," explained Dr. Cheryl Reding, USM associate professor of education and division chair of social and behavioral sciences. "This panel of teachers has motivated students to grow and challenged them to make our world a better place. And in every profession, from education to business, we can all have a 'teaching' role鈥攐ne that fosters growth and improves our environment."

Along with local standouts Sharon Kuchinski, a social studies teacher at Leavenworth High School, and Morgan Clark, an art teacher at Clear Creek Elementary School in Shawnee, Kan., the panel will also include Kansas' 2019 Kansas Teacher of the Year, Whitney Morgan, an English language arts and English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) teacher at Wyandotte High School, Kansas City, Kan.

Morgan was selected from a pool of more than 100 nominations, and she now qualifies for National Teacher of the Year.
