Opening Reception 3-5 p.m. Friday, March 29  | Goppert Gallery

(Leavenworth, Kan.)鈥擳he 花椒直播 will host the annual Senior Art Student Exhibition from Friday, March 29-Friday, April 12 in the Goppert Gallery in Xavier Hall on the USM Main Campus in Leavenworth, 4100 South 4th Street.

The exhibition features the works of four senior art majors: Gwendolyn Logan, Kenneth Banks, and Meshach Adams, and Anthony Arellano III. The exhibit is free and open to the public on weekdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., with a special opening reception from 3-5 p.m. on Friday, March 29.

Art major Gwendolyn Logan will feature her solo work, "Inspirational Places of the World & Mind"鈥攅xploring a change in her artistic vision. She uncovers sources of hope, peace, and inspiration through a variety of featured disciplines, including digital illustration, mixed media, and painting.

"These pieces are a personal testimony," Logan explained. "I reflected on the past few years and all the difficulties life threw my way; and the artwork I created embraces themes, like the duality of life and death, spirituality, and most importantly, places and things in the world and in my mind giving my soul solace and healing."

Art major Kenneth Banks will introduce his solo show, "Animated Machines"鈥攊ntroducing the use of machinery into a design. Influenced by Rube Goldberg (an American cartoonist, sculptor, author, engineer, and inventor), Kenneth puts a twist of his own artistic style into, what many come to know as, "The Rube Goldberg Machine." The artist shows a cause-and-effect design model attempting to perform a simple task in an indirect and highly overcomplicated way using digital after effects.

Meshach Adams is hosting a show highlighting his digital art with the hope to capture beauty in digital art, rather than the traditional painting or drawing techniques.

Art major Anthony Arellano's streetwear boutique hosts a variety of art, including digital illustrations, graphic design, and fashion design. Digital prints, stickers, and exclusive clothing merchandise will be available during the opening of the Senior Art Exhibition.
