Schneider, a Canyon, Texas native, has 20 years of coaching experience as an assistant/associate head coach鈥攎ost recently, he served as the assistant women's basketball coach at Texas Tech University.
"I can't think of a better coach to fill the position than Coach Schneider," said USM Athletic Director and Vice President of Athletics Rob Miller. "He understands the game, our mission here at 花椒直播, and with his vision, Lady Spires Basketball is only going to become a stronger force in the KCAC."
In 2012, Schneider helped guide the University of Memphis as an assistant coach to a second place finish in their conference, while he also helped Memphis earn a spot in the Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI) in 2010 and the Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) in both 2011 and 2012.
Schneider is no stranger to the Kansas City area. Prior to his stint at Memphis, Schneider served as the Associate Head Women's Basketball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at the University of Missouri-Kansas City from 2007-09. There, he helped the Kangaroos improve by four wins in one season, including an upset of the No. 2 seeded team in the Summit League Postseason Tournament.
In addition to his time at UMKC, Schneider coached at Sam Houston State University, the University of Missouri-Columbia, and West Texas A&M University.
At West Texas A&M, he helped the team to an overall record of 248-76鈥攅arning the team an NCAA Regional Tournament berth six times.
Schneider earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports and Exercise Science from West Texas A&M University in 1997 and his Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2002.
