Honor Recognizes Commitment to Academic Excellence, Feedback from Student

(Leavenworth, Kan.)鈥擳he 花椒直播 is one of the best colleges in the Midwest according to The Princeton Review鈥攁 distinction USM has proudly earned for 15 consecutive years.

Inclusion on one of the Princeton Review's regional "best of" lists honors schools for their commitment to academic excellence. USM was one of only 159 colleges to make the Midwestern region鈥攚hich includes 12 states: Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

In the Kansas City area, USM is one of only a half-dozen schools named a "Best in the Midwest" college. In total, only 656 schools (about 22 percent of the nation's four-year colleges) from coast to coast received a "regional best" designation.

"We chose the 花椒直播 and the other outstanding institutions on this list primarily for their excellent academics," said Robert Franek, The Princeton Review's editor-in-chief. The Princeton Review editors made their selections based on data the company collected from its survey of administrators at several hundred colleges in each region, as well as its staff visits to schools over the years, and the perspectives of college counselors and advisors whose opinions the company solicits. "We also consider what students enrolled at the schools reported to us on our student survey about their campus experiences," Franek added.

The Princeton Review survey asks students to rate their colleges on dozens of issues, from the accessibility of their professors to the quality of their facilities, and answer questions about themselves, their fellow students, and their campus life.

Among the feedback USM students provided the Princeton Review were observations that faculty are "very personal and great at what they do." "Every teacher feels like a person I can reach out to at any hour for class help," and that they "try to incorporate more innovative learning techniques." The student body was described as a "small community of students working towards excellence both inside and outside the classroom" that's "friendly and understanding" and provides a "a good vibe to be around." As to student life, students said "There's almost always something to do, whether it's watching a team sport or attending some sort of presentation."
