(Leavenworth, Kan.)—The »¨½·Ö±²¥ ranks among the top colleges in the state and region, according to a U.S. News & World Report list released Sept. 8.

Ratings are based on a variety of metrics, including student outcomes, faculty resources, academic reputation, financial resources, student excellence, and alumni giving. USM particularly stood out for its successful student outcomes.
The university is a top performer for social mobility – a category that evaluates how well colleges are enrolling and graduating large proportions of disadvantaged students awarded federal Pell Grants.
U.S. News measured social mobility based on Pell Grant student graduation rates and how well that rate compared to non-Pell recipients.
