(Leavenworth, Kan.)—The »¨½·Ö±²¥ men's swimming team earned the highest GPA of any National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics program with a 3.55 in fall 2019. The women's swimming team also excelled in the classroom with a 3.64 – the third-highest GPA in its division.

The GPAs from both teams earned them places on the . To be recognized on the top GPA lists, NAIA teams must maintain the minimum roster number of eight athletes.

"This is an incredible honor for these scholar-athletes and our program in just our second year," Coach David Bresser said. "I am continually impressed with their dedication in all things and their pursuit of excellence."

USM also had 19 programs earn NAIA Scholar-Teams honors in July 2019; including baseball (3.018), competitive cheer (3.159), competitive dance (3.712), men's cross country (3.425), women's cross country (3.569), men's indoor track and field (3.106), women's indoor track and field (3.31), men's lacrosse (3.066), women's lacrosse (3.122), men's outdoor track and field (3.121), women's outdoor track and field (3.311), men's soccer (3.064), women's soccer (3.601), softball (3.491), men's swimming and diving (3.389), women's swimming and diving (3.561), volleyball (3.476), women's wrestling (3.031), and men's wrestling (3.069).

Additionally, both track and field teams were named United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Teams in July, and the volleyball team was named an American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Academic Team in July.
