(Leavenworth, Kan.)鈥擳he 花椒直播 will host an expert panel discussion about the implications for military-connected children at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at USM's Main Campus in Leavenworth, at 4100 S. 4th St. The event, which is part of the USM Social-Emotional Wellbeing Series, will take place in the Mead Hall Walnut Room.
More than 2 million children in U.S. schools are military-connected, having at least one parent who is active duty military, reservist, or National Guard. These children not only have to cope with the normal ups and downs of growing up but also frequent moves and separations, as well as the potential results of wartime deployment. The weight of this is often unseen and unacknowledged.
A distinguished panel of engaging experts will address the challenges of parents, guardians, teachers, and family friends. There will also be a time for questions.
