(Leavenworth, Kan.)—The »¨½·Ö±²¥ has announced the hiring of Andrew Kelley as the new head women's basketball coach. Kelley comes to USM from Baker University in Baldwin City, Kan.
"We are excited to have Andy lead our women's basketball program," Vice President for Athletics Rob Miller said. "He has a solid plan for success."
Kelley spent four seasons on the Wildcats women's basketball staff as an assistant coach. While there, he helped lead the team to a 90-36 record, as well as a Heart of America Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament championship in 2017. The Wildcats also made three National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Tournament appearances – two Sweet 16 and one Final Four appearance, along with a runner-up finish in 2016.
He also coached and recruited four NAIA All-Americans, 10 All-Conference selections, a two-time conference Defensive Player of the Year, and one conference Player of the Year.
Kelley was also the head men's and women's golf coach at Baker, where he had six tournament victories and coached the 2021 Women's Golf Heart of America Newcomer of the Year. He also served as the head coach of Kansas Eclipse 15U and 16U girls basketball club teams in the KC metro area.

Kelley graduated from Baker in 2014 and was a three-time All-Heart of America Conference First Team member on the Wildcats' golf team.
He resides in Gardner, Kan., with his wife, Jess, who is the assistant girls' basketball coach at De Soto High School.
