(Leavenworth, Kan.)—»¨½·Ö±²¥ nursing student Elizabeth Henderson was among the 31 people who received a 2021 scholarship from the Kansas Nurses Foundation in August.
A nonprofit organization, KNF works to advance the nursing profession by supporting the career development of Kansas nurses. Each year, KNF awards a variety of scholarships to undergraduate and graduate nursing students. Many of the scholarships are provided through named endowments.
"This past year has been especially difficult as a nursing student, with changes of the pandemic impacting both the classroom and clinical sites," Henderson said. "Receiving the KNF scholarship is such a tremendous support not only financially but also emotionally. Knowing that there are people out there encouraging me on my nursing journey makes me excited about my future as a nurse!"
In May, Henderson also received the Trinity Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Scholarship. Scholarships are awarded by a committee of dedicated TLHSN alumnae, served by the support of the Baptist-Trinity Lutheran Legacy Foundation. Since its inception, 665 nursing scholarships have been awarded, totaling $1,967,500 in financial assistance.
Henderson is a resident of Basehor, Kan.
