(Leavenworth, Kan.)—The »¨½·Ö±²¥ will feature the artwork of talented elementary and middle school students through an online exhibition on Presidents' Day, Feb. 21.

The exhibition celebrates USM's Annual Lincoln Art Contest, which received nearly 100 entries from local artists in 1st-8th grade. Visit www.stmary.edu/lincoln to view the exhibition starting Monday. A video presentation celebrating the winners will be posted to www.stmary.edu/lincoln and debut live Feb. 21 on the university's Facebook page:

USM freshman graphic design major Olivia Helten served as the contest juror, and she selected winners in four categories: Best Overall, Most Original, Best Portrait, and Best Use of Color. Each winner will receive a prize.

The Annual Lincoln Art Contest is part of the university's yearly efforts to honor its 10,000-piece Bernard H. Hall Abraham Lincoln Collection. The collection is housed in the Keleher Learning Commons (formerly De Paul Library) on USM's Main Campus in Leavenworth – 4100 South 4th Street.

The Lincoln Collection has several treasures, such as an original copy of the 13th Amendment signed by President Lincoln. Call 913-758-6306 to schedule a tour of the Lincoln Collection.

USM traditionally hosts the art contest in conjunction with its Annual Lincoln Event. The university limited the scope of its Lincoln Event for 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
