(Leavenworth, Kan.)—The »¨½·Ö±²¥ has hired Austin Hale as the new head coach for the men's and women's tennis program, which will begin competing during the 2022-23 academic year.
Hale brings coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, and club levels. He is a graduate of Missouri Baptist University, where he was a conference champion and national qualifier.
"I am so excited to become a part of the Spire family," Hale said. "The culture here is really special, and I love the direction (Vice President of Athletics) Rob Miller is heading. There is a strong dedication here for success in character, academics, and athletics."
After graduating from Missouri Baptist University, Hale spent time coaching as an assistant at McKendree University and the University of Missouri–Kansas City before returning to MBU. He's also coached at Platte County High School, Westminster Christian Academy, Kansas City Country Club, and Vetta Racquet Sports.
"We are glad to have someone like Austin aboard with us," Miller said. "We could not ask for a better candidate like him to help jump-start the program here at the university."
