About USM's Residence Halls
Living on the 花椒直播 campus offers a dynamic and supportive environment that will enhance your academic and social experiences. The close-knit community fosters meaningful connections with peers, faculty, and staff, creating a sense of belonging. On-campus housing is conveniently located near classrooms, the dining hall, and athletic facilities, saving time and allowing you to focus on your studies.
Steele Hall
Steele Hall is open to all 花椒直播 students, but priority is given to juniors and
seniors. Rooms for graduate students are subject to availability.
Enjoy apartment-style living with single rooms and a shared kitchenette, dining/living room, and bathroom. All rooms have a twin XL bed, desk, chair, dresser, and spacious closet. Laundry rooms are available on both floors. High-speed internet is standard throughout the residence hall. There are four bedrooms in each apartment.

- Apartment-size fridge and stovetop
- Apartment-controlled heating and air conditioning
- 55-inch television
Berkel Hall
Berkel is a suite-style residence hall. High-speed internet is standard in the two-bedroom
and four-bedroom suite rooms, along with twin XL beds, desks, chairs, dressers, and
large closets. There is a laundry room on each floor and a lounge for hangout on the
first floor. Berkel is open to freshmen through seniors.
Typical Setup:
- 4 private bedrooms share a common area
- 2 bathrooms shared by 2 people
- 2 vanities with double sinks
- Individually controlled heating and air conditioning
Maria Hall
Maria Hall is open to all students on its first through fifth floors. High-speed internet
is standard in our suite-style rooms. Rooms are double-occupancy with a bathroom between
every two rooms. All rooms have twin XL beds, desks, chairs, dressers, and large closets.
Single and private rooms are also available in Maria for sophomores and second-semester freshmen, if space allows.
Other Maria Amenities
- Laundry room located in the basement level
- Common-area kitchens on the first and second floors
- Lounges with TVs and games, including pool, foosball, and ping pong
- Study lounge
Housing Requirement
USM requires students to live on campus until they are 19 years old and a junior (60 credit hours) -OR- 21 years of age at the start of their first semester at USM.
Exceptions to this policy include students who are:
- Married
- Reside within the primary residence of a parent or legal guardian within a 30-mile radius of the university
- Parents of dependent children
Those seeking an exception from the residency requirement must submit a Housing Waiver through eSpire.

Important Housing Forms
You must be logged into eSpire before accessing any housing forms (like the housing contract, waiver form, etc.). To secure your housing, you'll need to:
- Read the Statement of Terms & Conditions of Occupancy
- Complete the Housing Contract
- Pay your $200 housing deposit
